i have been experimenting with dif tire sizes for some time now.....i am currently running a6 4.2 wheels with 255/40/17 ll around. i have been told by many people that you cant fit this tire size. i just felt like sharing the information. i will post pictures soon. I should note that if you turn the steering wheel all the way and try to reverse you will hear a little bit of front rubbing, however none when you go forward.

Yeah, you can run 255/40 no problem as long as the wheel offset is correct. Been there, doing that for four years or so now. They rub the back of the front fender liners a bit when reversing at full lock but other than that no issues.

yes excatly! i wasnt sure if that was just me. i did however have an issue with a right rear tire lowing out. any ideas? it happend twice!
